Most video game fans would know about Sonic the Hedgehog who has been the mascot of Sega since 1991. Through the years, there have been numerous releases of Sonic the Hedgehog games with a whole string of villains and rivals. One of Sonic's more memorable rivals is Silver the Hedgehog.

Just like Sonic, Silver the Hedgehog is an ultra stylish hedgehog. Born on November 7, 3342, in Crisis City, Silver is from the future. Standing at 100cm and weighing 35kg, he is actually an African Pygmy Hedgehog. With white skin and white fur on his head and chest, it's no wonder that he came to be known as Silver the Hedgehog. While he doesn't wear clothes, he looks great in his gloves and boots, which he uses to channel his telekinetic ESP powers. Slightly above his gloves and boots, Silver wears futuristic-looking gold cuffs, which greatly complement his yellow eyes.

Silver the Hedgehog made his first appearance in the 2006 release of Sonic the Hedgehog. After failing to defeat Iblis, the fire demon, Silver was tricked by Mephiles into thinking that Sonic is the Iblis Trigger, who powers Iblis' constant resurrections. To defeat Iblis, Silver has to kill Sonic, only, Sonic is already dead so Silver has to go back to the past to achieve his mission. If he fails to kill Sonic, the world will be destroyed. The first time they meet, Silver engages Sonic in a fight, but fails to deliver the final blow. Later, Silver finds out that Sonic is not the Iblis Trigger so they join forces with Shadow to challenge the final boss, Solaris.
