Silver Can Prevent Spoiling

Dating back to ancient times, silver has been used for medicinal purposes. In those days, there was little debate about the medicinal properties of silver. In our day and age, some people have cast doubts on just how useful silver really is in curing certain ailments. While silver certainly is not a cure for all medical problems, it does have some curative powers. As time goes on, we realize more and more that ancient wisdom in using things like silver is not so far off the mark.

The ancient Greeks and Romans used silver to prevent and fight infections and to keep food from spoiling. Their neighbors in Persia (the area now known as Iran) thought that putting water into silver containers would keep that water from being contaminated.
The Russian army also kept their drinking water in containers that were lined with silver.

Another version of this same practice was common in the old Wild West where people would keep milk and water from spoiling by putting silver coins into containers that held these liquids.

In modern times, scientists have acknowledged that silver does have some anti-bacterial properties. You can even buy band-aids with silver particles on them that promise to keep your wounds from getting infected. So as you can see, the use of silver has some full circle.

Silver keeps some things from spoiling and at the same time silver itself certainly does not spoil either. If you have silver bars, silver coins, silver jewelry or silver flatware, then you know that it is still as useful now as it ever was. But if for some reason you are not using it, you may want to think about selling that silver. When you sell silver to a silver buyer you can get money for silver.
