In the Bible, no man is stronger than Samson. From his birth, he was blessed with superhuman strength. In his youth, he tore up a lion as if he was tearing a piece of paper. On his own, he killed a thousand Philistines. Yet, Samson was weak with women, and it took one Delilah to betray him for a lot of silver shekels.
Recognizing Samson as Public Enemy No. 1, the lords of the Philistines plotted with Delilah to uncover the secrets of his strength, probably because they knew that Samson's ears were soft to her voice. Each of the lords promised Delilah eleven hundred pieces of silver. As there was no mention of the number of lords, it's rather impossible to speculate on the full value of Samson's capture.
How Delilah enticed Samson into revealing the secret of his strength is rather comical. The first time she asked, Samson told her, "If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man." After Delilah had tied Samson up as such, she called the Philistines upon him, but he broke free with great ease. When she enticed him again, Samson said, "If they bind me fast with new ropes that were never occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man." Following his instructions, Delilah called the Philistines upon him, but again, he broke free with great ease. Twice bitten, Delilah wasn't shy, enticing Samson a third time and he told her, "If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web." Of course, Delilah was left fuming when she found out that Samson had lied to her again.
Instead of giving up, Delilah increased her efforts and coaxed Samson so much that he finally told her, "There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb; if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man." After Delilah shaved "off the seven locks of his head," the Philistines took out his eyes and chained him in the prison house.
In time, Samson's hair grew and he regained his strength. When he was paraded during an important Dagon ceremony, Samson pulled down the two middle pillars, causing the house to collapse. In his death, he took the lives of three thousand Philistines with him. What would you take if you want to sell silver? Go to the top silver buyer and you will get instant cash for silver!
