In the Bible, Solomon was the richest of Israel's kings. The son of David, he was blessed with such extraordinary wisdom that he was able to rule over a happy nation which is strongly devoted to him. In his time, Israel became exceedingly prosperous, receiving great tributes of gold, silver, precious stones, and other gifts from many nations.
When the Queen of Sheba got wind of King Solomon's growing fame, she made a personal trip to test his wisdom with the toughest questions, bringing with her a great caravan of gold, precious stones, and such a great abundance of bare spices. Not only was she thoroughly impressed by Solomon's great wisdom, but she was exceedingly overwhelmed by the manner in which Solomon ruled his kingdom, seeing his wealth and the happiness of his subjects in serving him, that she became empty spirited.
Soon, other tributes arrived from other nations, and it was recorded that Solomon accumulated "six hundred threescore and six talents of gold" in a year. King Solomon received so much gold that he commissioned many items of gold, including the grandest, most majestic throne of ivory overlaid with gold, golden shields, and "drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver."
Such was the fate of silver in Solomon's kingdom that he "made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones," so it could be seen that silver was rather worthless. An astute businessman, King Solomon used his vast treasury of silver to buy chariots (six hundred shekels of silver each) and horses (one hundred and fifty shekels of silver each) from Egypt, a land which was scarce in silver.
While silver was not all that valuable in Solomon's kingdom, the trend is quite the reverse today. If you want to sell silver, you will receive instant cash for silver at very good rates. Just get in touch with a silver buyer today!
