The Zhang Sun coin completes the silver collection of the "Outlaws of the Marshes" coin series. Unlike the Lin Chong and Flowery Monk coins which are struck in more conventional circular shapes, the Zhang Sun coin is rectangular.
Earlier in his life, Zhang Shun made a living by trading illegal goods around the Xunyang River, with his older brother Zhang Heng. For some reason, he moved to Jiangzhou later to become a fisherman. Described as a man possessing fair complexion with a handsome beard, Zhang Shun was about six foot tall. However, it's his extraordinary talents in the water that warranted the illustrious title of "White Stripes in the Waves." Other than walking on water, Zhang Shun could also swim a maximum distance of 25 km in a single day and stay underwater for seven days and nights. After helping the Liangshan heroes escape from the execution ground where their leader Song Jiang was to be executed, Zhang Shun and Zhang Heng joined the outlaws.
Composed of 5 troy ounces of .999 pure silver, the Zhang Shun coin is based on the event where he captured the corrupted court official Huan Wenbing who tried to get Song Jiang executed earlier. On the obverse, Zhang Shun is underwater, his left hand holding onto a curved short knife, and his right hand clutching onto the clothes of Huan Wenbing. A few golden fish are absolutely overjoyed. To the left of Zhang's feet, the words "Zhang Shun Captures Huan Wenbing" appear and on the bottom right hand corner is the value "50 Yuan." On the reverse, there's the majestic state emblem and on the left panel are the words "People's Republic of China." In the realm of the 36 Heavenly Spirits, Zhang Shun is ranked 30th.
If Zhang Shun is alive today, he will surely be a great hit. Yet, another great hit is that you can receive top dollar for silver when you want to sell silver. Just call this silver buyer now!
