Although this writer did not grow up in the era of the 1950's and the early 1960's, when ever I hear music of that era it is reminiscent of music that seems like it was much more simpler and light hearted. If you are wondering what I exactly mean by light hearted and simpler, what I am essentially saying is that is seems like most of the music was based more on having fun and identifying over the follies of everyday high school drama, times that seem like precious solid gold . With artist like Buddy Holly, Ritchie "Valens", the Beatles, Little Richard and the like music of this era truly paved the way for the future generations.
Now although the writer; a child of the 1980's is prone to the likes of classic hip-hop and straight edge hardcore music, the music of the 1950's does catch the era. Many of the artists of that time had records and singles that made it to solid gold status which we can say is just a precious as gold coins. But upon researching this further one of the themes that I found that made Rock n' roll so famous then and now was the influence of the Rhythm and Blues upon early and late stages of Rock and Roll. Those who know this would sell some rare records in an opportunity to cash in by selling the ‘gold' aged music online in some time type of auction. Many historians classify Rhythm and Blues as descriptions of post war popular African American Music. And some were pre-war like artist like Muddy Waters who had famous songs like ‘Trouble no More' became more and more popular in suburban society. What is interesting though is the gradual progression of the themes of music over the years and what's just as interesting is that the rock music of the earlier generation is considered ‘golden.'
So now the Unites States has seen the era of ‘Be-'Bop' to Rhythm and Blues, to Rock and Rock n Roll to Metal to grunge and beyond. If you look hard enough you can see similarities of each influence on each other. Lovers of music today really have to look at the foundations of the past because in reality it all been recycled and if is for this reason I am sure that most historians consider the earlier music worth as much as gold for cash. And if you haven't figured it out already, the writer here is an avid lover of music of all types, since music to me worth just as much as the price of gold.
